What is Keto Diet ?

Keto Diet

which stands for Ketogenic diet . It is a high-fats , low carbohydrates    and appropriate protein diet . The main target of it is that it forces    the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates .

 How it Works ?

Because of Insufficient Carbohydrates or Proteins , body don’t have enough glucose for fuel . Body utilizes backup-fuel , converting body-fat into ketones  for energy .

          

 Foods to be consumed in Keto Diet

  1. Fruits:- Although Fruits are found to be high in carbohydrates but still some of them can be eaten in keto-diet .
  • Avocadoes 
  • Watermelon
  • Cantaloupe
  • Raspberries
  • Tomatoes
  • Olives
  • Coconut

While Fruits such as Bananas , Grapes , Apples , Pineapples , Mangoes etc should be avoided in case of Keto-diet.


2. Dry Fruits such as Almonds , Walnuts , Almond Butter etc.

3. Vegetables such as Mushrooms , Cauliflower , Spinach , Tomatoes , Mushrooms , Cucumber , Green Beans , Broccoli .  

               

  Vegetables to be avoided are :- Potatoes(Sweet or Baked), Carrots , Green Beans , Baked Beans , Lentils , Green Peas etc.

4. Protein-Rich Foods such as Eggs , Beef , Pork , Natural Cheese can be eaten in Keto diet.


5. Fat-Rich Foods such as different oils ( Olive oil , Avocado oil ) Seeds( Pumpkin, Sesame ) etc. can be consumed.


Duration of Keto-Diet

You have to adopt Keto-diet for around three to maximum six months to properly get the conclusion . Although some researches have discovered that it is bit risky to opt keto diet for long term .


Benefits of Keto-Diet

  • First and foremost it helps in weight loss effectively.

  • It prevents from heart diseases . 

  • It helps in improving skin problems such as  acne etc .

  • It helps in curing heart diseases.

  • It improves PCOS symptoms.

 

Negative Side of Keto-Diet

It leads to short term side-effects such as migraine , headache , stomach problems etc .Whereas in some cases it is referred bad as it can lead to constipation ,can cause low blood pressure ,leads to vitamin deficiencies , and also on extreme to kidney stones etc .

After some time of consuming Keto- Diet people are found to gain weight as naturally due to consumption of high- fats diet .
As we all know that everything has their own pros and cons . but while considering anything we should firstly estimate how our body reacts to it .
